Dear Grace...

I don't think God can really forgive me for all the bad stuff I've done. I'm so ashamed. I know God loves everybody but I've gone too far—He can't forgive me.

Dear Sandra,

On the hill stood three crosses. Two crosses held the worst of criminals. They had no regard for others, they stole and thought nothing of the destruction and hurt they left behind. Jesus hung between them, guiltless. One thief had no remorse. The other knew he was getting what he deserved. He also knew this Jesus had done nothing wrong. He remembers some of the things he heard that Jesus had said and he thought that maybe, just maybe, some of them were true. He asks Jesus “remember me when you come into your kingdom.” His question is filled with hope and doubt and shame. He is looking for mercy. And what does Jesus say? “I’ll think about it, but you don’t deserve anything.” NO, Jesus replies, “today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:42-43).

There is nothing that can take God’s love away from you. Nothing! When we go to our loving Father and seek His forgiveness, it is ours, immediately. Today! “ If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us of our sins” (1 John 1:9).

Shame and guilt will keep you hostage. Doubt will freeze you. But Gods forgiveness will free you. Trust His promise to you! Your sins have been paid in full by Jesus. So today, right now, you can celebrate in your new beginning.
