Dear Grace...

I have decided not to date until I'm ready to get married. My friends are all challenging me—they say that I won't know anyone when the time comes. How do I know I made the right decision? Should I listen to them?

Joe

Dear Joe,

You are a wise young person. Counsel is coming to you from many different directions, but what is the source of their belief? Hold true to what you know. You know God’s will for marriage. You have made His Law and Word a valuable source to guide your life’s path. Continue to trust Him, not your emotions or friends, to guide you to your future mate. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of Him is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).

You already know much about women. You have already learned many things from your mom, grandmother and other female family members. As you listen and observe women, you discover many things. Woman will tell you what they hold important by the choices they make and the company they keep. Stay strong. God will honour your purity and decisions.
