14 For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 16 So from now on we regard no-one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
2 Corinthians 5:14-17
- How has your belief in Jesus changed the way you think about certain issues and people?
- How are you compelled by Christ’s love for you?
- Do you really want to be compelled by the love of Christ? What difficulties does it pose?
- Do you really want Jesus to be Lord of all of your life? What areas are you sometimes reluctant to let God reign over in your life?
Think about these questions; present your difficulties; doubts and challenges to God.
Pray about Christ’s love and what it is compelling you to do and be...
And remember that being a new creation in Christ is what the Holy Spirit is working in us for as long as we live! We won’t ever attain perfection—but we are still God’s children—who He forgives! Every day as we ask for forgiveness we get a new start.
